The Woldumar Nature Association is a private nonprofit organization, established in 1963 with a mission: to educate people about the natural environment. Woldumar is a special place to thousands of area residents. For over 50 years, our members, staff, volunteers and supporters have endeavored to make Woldumar a valuable educational resource to area schools, families and the community at large. We host field study, day camps, festivals and events, and maintain over 180 acres of ecologically diverse habitat with 5 miles of hiking trails, which are open daily to the public. Meaningful partnerships and community support are critical to the organizations mission success.

Protecting and maintaining Woldumars natural features, grooming the trials, and keeping the campus grounds and facilities safe and welcoming for over 25,000 visitors annually are perpetual efforts for our staff and volunteers. General park support helps keep facilities and equipment operational and provides a foundation for our education, conservation, and stewardship efforts.

Woldumars signature programs and primary mission efforts include Camp Discovery and School Field Study. Each summer, over 400 youth explore and discover science and nature at camp. Participants learn about ecology and conservation as they play games, create art, participate in science labs, canoe, kayak, or camp in a tent. For many, their outdoor experience at Woldumar is a first. Over 4500 local students participate in school field study at Woldumar each year. Hosted by staff naturalists, students explore a different science or history theme. Program sponsors help provide supplies and equipment for these programs, and offset costs to reduce program fees.

run-a-munk competitorsEvents:

Woldumar currently hosts two annual events: The American Heritage Festival in September, and the Run-A-Munk 5k/10k Trail Run in November. The American Heritage Festival is a celebration of local history and culture, offering horse-drawn wagon rides, pontoon boat rides, historical reenactments, live music and educational demonstrations. The event attracts over 700 visitors annually. Run-A-Munk encourages outdoor recreation and healthy living as 300-500 runners and walkers enjoy a challenging timed foot-race on our trails. Both events serve to support our mission efforts and introduce new community members to the organization.

$100 – $399: Receive a thank you letter, recognition in our annual report and Visitor Center.

$400 – $999: + Recognition in our bimonthly newsletter and on the “sponsors and affiliates” page of our website

$1000 or more: + Recognition on the entrance sign for 12 months


Program Sponsor

$150 – $499: Receive a thank you letter, recognition in our annual report and Visitor Center.

$500 – $2499: + Recognition in the program brochure distributed to hundreds of local schools and families

$2500 or more, one per program: + Receive Title Sponsor recognition on the front and back brochure cover, entrance sign, program web page, social media posts, and all print materials including t-shirts (camp only)


Event Sponsor

$150 – $499: Receive a thank you letter, recognition in event print materials (brochure or t-shirt).

$500 – $2999: + Receive recognition on yard sign at the event. Sponsor may provide informational booth at event.

$3000 or more, one per event: + Title Sponsor’s name or logo will be incorporated into all event branding, featured in all print materials, event web page, and social media posts. Recognition on the entrance sign for 12 months.
