Experience dynamic learning environments through LEARN517, a homeschool partnership program that explores a monthly theme through the disciplines of art, science, nature, and history. Each program partner hosts a 1-3 p.m. Thursday homeschool session based on the following calendar:

April: Seeds & Plants

LEARN517 sessions meet each Thursday of the month at the following venues:

REACH Art Studio (Week 1)
Impression 5 Science Center (Week 2)
Woldumar Nature Center (Week 3) (pre-register for Woldumar sessions here)
Michigan History Center (Week 4)

Sessions are from 1-3 p.m. and designed for homeschool families with children ages 6-11 (other ages welcome). Registration varies by organization; click on the specific organization headings below for direct links to each organization’s session information!

Description: Discover new art techniques and explore elements and principles of art through structured lessons or Open Art Labs. Older students (ages 10-15) can pre-enroll in monthly structured lessons designed around LEARN517 themes while younger students (ages 5-15) can enjoy exploring art independently at a variety of art stations in the Open Art Lab environment.

February 2: Paper cities–draw a cityscape & construct a paper house
